How to create Users and Assign Security roles in Dynamics 365 CE Online?

In one of my earlier articles, i had explained about How to create Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE Online 30 Days Trial Version?

In this article, will explain about creating Users and Assign Security roles to them.

Follow the below steps to do the same.

Step 1: Click here to navigate to Microsoft 365 admin center Portal and login with Dynamics 365 CE Credentials.

Step 2: Expand Users and Click on Active users.

You can see the list of all Active users.

Step 3: Click on Add a user.

Step 4: Provide all the basic details like First name, Last name, Display name and Username.

Select,

Automatically create a password, so that system will generate a random password, if you do not select this option, you can see a field for entering the strong password.

Require this user to change their password when they first sign in, when the user first logs in, they have to update their password.

Send password in email upon completion, enter the email address of the user to send the password information in it.

Click on Next.

Step 5: Assign required Licenses and Apps and Click on Next.

Step 6: This is an Optional settings, as i am going with the default option User (no admin center access).

Click on Next.

Step 7: Click on Edit, if you want to change any information. Otherwise, Click on Finish adding.

User is getting added.

Step 8: User has been created successfully and you can see the below information.

Also, you can save the steps for creating the above user as a Template, which can be used for Creating the similar type of users later.

Click on Close.

You can see the newly added user in the Active users list.

Also, got the below email with the password information.

Step 9: Navigate to Dynamics 365 CE Environment, for assigning the Security Role for the newly created user.

Use this tip and open Settings page of the Dynamics 365 CE Environment and Click on Security under System.

Step 10: Click on Users.

Step 11: Select the required user and Click on MANAGE ROLES.

Step 10: Select the required Role(s) and Click on OK.

Hope you have successfully created a User and Assigned the Security role.
